3 in 1

Well I have had a yucky week last week. I have a lung infection-yeah and let's just say the meds reacted badly with me so back to the Dr I go, I am concerned about my mom's memory-she is going for an MRI and my former father in law passed away. He was so gallant, kind and dignified. I don't think he could be here without his wife who passed away last April. They were married 59 yrs and lovingly so. Sorry for whining but I just had to let it out a little:) I could not bring myself to make a sympathy card even though I will be going to the funeral. At least not today so I made a birthday card with the thought of mom and dad (I still call them that) and thought of flowers which mom loved and butterflies which mean "Joy of Life". I made the 365 day card challenge from yesterday (too ill to do it yesterday) and I used the butterflies for Flutter by Wednesday and The homemade flower for Crafty Creations. I used glossy bronze cardstock and then a pretty light lavendar cardstock for the cuttlebug embossing. I cut out 4 hearts from the glossy cardstock to make my flower and added a pearl embellishment for the centre.I used pearls for the edges(nope not real) and then I embossed in black the butterflies and I watercoloured using my Tombow markers in a variety of colours and cut out the butterflies. You can't see it but at the bottom of the card there are 3 pearls that I coloured purple. When you open the card you still see the 3 pearls-Oh well can't see them but it looks nice I think. Thanks for reading my whine. Everyone have a beautiful day, stop and smell the flowers and enjoy watching a butterfly dance among them

Flutter and Crafty!

Ok this first design is for Flutter by Wednesdays and we had to go by a photo as inspiration. I just loved the purple tree in the background so I tried to duplicate it. I used glossy white cardstock. I used purple embossing ink and Purple glitter for the trees. I then used my twinkling H2O's and coloured in the trees to give extra shimmer. I used different coloured ink pads and sponged in orange, pink, blue and purple for the background and in black dye ink, I plcaed in the swirly design (which I love and use alot-see below:)) and my fern and grass stamp pad. I then stamped my fairy and cut her out. I coloured her also with twinkling H2o's and made her a little green-she lives in the woods. I then ended it with using my stickles!
This is for Crafty Creations challenge where we had to use mostly one colour so I decided to challenge myself too and try for various shades of black:) I used cotton to create the background with chalks starting with a light grey and going all the way to Balck. I then samped the image of the flower swirl design on the sides first just using basic dye ink pad and then using a black pigment ink pad and embossing with black glitter. I used the black glitter and embossed the Happy Birthday greeting and also the bird and cut the bird out and used pop dots to place it there. I also used a cut out design with the hearts and then the inside of the card I also embossed with black glitter so it shows up, well as you see here-at the bottom.Have a great day and enjoy the Oscars!
